I visited here for a week on holiday with family and it did not disappoint. Absolutely stunning beach. I would suggest looking at high and low tides to plan your days as when the tide is I'm it comes right up to the shingle edge so if you're looking for a day on the sand it would be good to plan ahead. On our first day we parked further along instead of parking in the main car park.. Big mistake for a few reasons - 1. We had to lift all of our things over the wall which as a family of 5 adults and 2 children and also 3 dogs included an awful lot of stuff including sun tents and wind breakers for the kids and pups and 3 paddle boards and 4 body boards 🙈 2. The toilets were miles away which with two year old girls who tend to announce last minute that they need a wee is hard work 🙈 3. When we got to the toilets, there was no toilet roll - but thankfully we were prepared as we had tissues for hay-fever 🤪 and no hand wash just some hand gel. For the remaining days we parked in the main park and paid the rather reasonable cost of the car park. This meant we had easy-ish access to the beach - we still had to navigate the shingle mountain and also we were close to the toilets and the incredible ice cream shop!!! I'd also recommend the fish and chip shop just up from the beach as it's delicious!!!

Lovely beach in fairbourne. When the tide goes out miles of sand . Not good for pushchairs or wheelchair access big rock sea defence to climb over to get to the sand. I prefer fairbourne beach to Barmouth. If you want a quieter sandy beach it's excellent.

What’s lovely time we just had at Fairbourne Beach. We managed to actually go into the sea! It’s quite a long beach and with the tide out it was delightful. There’s a toilet block, free, to the right hand side of of the beach, The township has a decent pub, railway for kids and a mainline.

Well kept beach with a car park and zones for dogs and without. Between the stones were some shap rusted metal and glass so keep an eye out for your kids and dogs.

You have got to visit this place. Fairbourne itself, is extremely small and quiet. You have the main line train every even hour travelling south and every odd travelling north. Within a minute you can be sat on the small steam engine that would chug down to the Barmouth ferry crossing. Or you could walk to the beach. Its gorgeous, lovely sands, stretches forever, car park, if you have come by car. Seats by the wall for those not wishing to go on the beach, there are stones initially, think these are to break the tide.

Beautiful long sandy beach but can be hard to get on with all the loose stones and rocks

Stunning location. Beach is sandy banked with huge banks of large pebbles. The top of the beach is lined with World War 2 anti-tank blocks to protect the train track. There's a steam train running from Fairbourne, along the beach (several places to stop) all the way to the end of the spit opposite Barmouth. At the end there's a small passenger ferry (max 8 passengers!) that takes you 5 minutes across the estuary to Barmouth harbour. There's a pub/cafe/shop on the sea front at Fairbourne and main line train station a few minutes walk inland along with a larger shop. There's a small par 3 golf course. The walk across the salt marsh to Barmouth bridge is fabulous, as is the walk across Barmouth Bridge, the longest wooden viaduct in the UK.

Lovely, long sweeping beach. A mix of shingle and sand and goes on for what feels like miles. Can walk along the path next to the sea wall and admire the miniature railway running alongside. Nice views out to see and framed by the hills on either side of the estuary.
